The Field Trip – A summary
After looking around the Garthdee campus in the morning we eventually found the Minibus, consequently we set off from the Woolmanhill turning circle about 10mins later that we had planned (roughly 09:40). Our first stop was to visit Frovie Sands. During our walk along the dunes and beach we wrote a few equations in the sand as well as “CTRL Byte”, also had the opportunity to take some photos of a seal who happened to be on the beach. After that we took a break for a quick spot of lunch before heading on to Slains Castle followed by a 3.5km further trek north to see the Bullars of Buchan. We got back to the minibus around 17:30 and headed to Ellon for a spot of fish & chips before making the journey back to Aberdeen, arriving shortly after 19:00. All in all it was a great day out and the sun was shining all day long, couldn’t have asked for better weather. Should probably starting thinking about our next trip, but the next thing on the agenda is for tomorrow – bowling at Codonas!
General Ideas in the two weeks leading up to the field trip
As has become the custom now we will celebrate the start of the new semester by heading off into the wild on one of our field trips. At present the exact plan is being considered but we may head north up along the coast and see what we find. Tune in again for further updates on what we plan on doing (weather permitting of course).
