About

CTRL Byte is the name of the Computer Society of Robert Gordon University. It was established in October / November 2009 over the course of a number of weekly meetings.
Some of the main activities of the society include:
Give lectures and organise workshops on a chosen topic.
Inviting guest speakers to discuss various topics.
Internal & External programming and gaming Competitions.
Casual gaming activities (Unreal Tournament, FPS, RTS), both internally and against other societies.
Trips and events to see how IT is applied in real life situations. Also we go on more general trips, for example, cross country walking in Braemar.
Promoting the use of Technology in all its forms.
Other activities outside of computing such as bowling, soccer, basketball, snowboarding and Paintball to name just a few.
To sum up CTRL Byte, is about Programming, learning, taking part in competitions, and having fun.
